Spring is the perfect time of year to visit Kissimmee. You couldn’t ask for better weather for outdoor activities – temperatures in March hover in the 70s, perfect for golf, fishing, hiking, biking and more, all within reach of the amazing theme parks and nightlife of Orlando.

If you’re looking for a relaxing spring break destination, Kissimmee is the place for you. Check out Lake Tohopekaliga (we just call it Lake Toho) for excellent freshwater sport fishing – largemouth bass, speckled perch, and sunfish are all desirable trophy fish that are plentiful in the lake. You can even consider hiring a charter if you’d like to have a local show you the best spots.

In Lake Tohopekaliga sits Makinson Island, a 132-acre island with hiking trails and spots for watching wildlife. Other excellent hiking and biking opportunities in or near Kissimmee include Steffee Landing, Twin Oaks Conservation Area, Split Oak Forest Mitigation Park, and

the Nature Conservancy’s DisneyWilderness Preserve – not to mention a number of paved trails in other parks.

Golf enthusiasts need look no further the Orlando/Kissimmee area – with gorgeous championship-quality courses throughout the region, it’s truly a golfer’s paradise. Falcon’s Fire Golf Club is a Rees Jones Signature Design Masterpiece course in Kissimmee that’s definitely worth a visit, but there are tons of other courses nearby that offer excellent golf.

If you want to get away from nature for a bit, head out toward Orlando, just a quick drive down the road, and check out the amazing nightlife nearby.
